BPMN for Healthcare Processes

چکیده
The nature of healthcare processes in a multidisciplinary hospital is inherently complex. In this paper, we identify particular problems of modeling healthcare processes with the de-facto standard process modeling language BPMN. We discuss all possibilities of BPMN adressing these problems. Where plain BPMN fails to produce nice and easily comprehensible results, we propose a new approach: Encorporating role information in process models using the color attribute of tasks complementary to the usage of lanes.

Modelling business processes using BPMN has been emerging as the preferred choice for organisations seeking to enact their business processes in service-oriented environments. However, a number of organisations have their business processes modelled using Role Activity Diagramming, RAD. متن کاملA BPMN Model of the Charite Stroke Treatment Process
In the healthcare domain, business process management (BPM) has become a valuable asset [8]. Thereby, BPM heavily relies on process models to identify, review, validate, verify, represent, and communicate process knowledge [11]. In this paper, we describe the model of a treatment process for stroke patients at the Charité Berlin, one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. We observe the...

متن کاملOn Modeling Web Service based Processes for Healthcare
In terms of business process-modeling, healthcare is a rather complex sector of activity. Indeed, modeling healthcare processes presents some special requirements dictated by the complex and dynamic nature of these processes as well as by the specificity and diversity of the actors involved in these processes. We discuss these requirements and propose a framework for evaluating processmodeling ...
